I was asked by a long term client to help migrate an older Win10 PC's hard drive content over to a new Win 10 PC. He fixed problem!! This type of diligence, skill, and above and beyond service reflects well on your company and having such dedicated employees will enhance your company's reputation and good will for years to come. After considerable time, he said he could not fix problem. Dennis opened a chat session with me and graciously offered to check things to see what he could find. I thought I would check with Zinstall before incurring this expense to see if the problem had arisen in the course of its transfer business.
He said he could fix problem, but it would cost $179.99. I called my computer tech and he examined my computer. I could never get Troubleshooter to launch. Windows recommended Troubleshooter as the method to fix the problem. Eventually, however, I thought enough was enough and tried to fix the problem.

Finally, depending on the size of the old drive, plan on letting the system run for a while (could be a couple of hours or more). See if the new computer can read the drive, if so, the rest is very straight forward. If you have a dead computer or laptop, pull the drive and use a docking station (they are relatively cheap). Agree with some other comments that things don't all end up where you think they should be but simply search and you can find them. If you are using MS OneDrive you may need to uninstall and reinstall it from MS after your transfers are complete. Once everything was installed it was fine. It is not your new computer that requires a manufacturer involvement as was suggested, it is the program and your particular case. Once that is done, if your new computer is preloaded with MS trial version stuff go ahead and take that all off (trial office 365, etc.) Depending on your situation your mouse may get sluggish or respond weirdly. Frustrating to need to restart the transfer program several times until the program accepted the new version of Windows. Make certain all of the newest security updates are installed and the latest Windows update is all installed. Was transferring from a hard drive I pulled from a dead computer using a hard drive docking station to new computer. Would have appreciated the Windows version comparability test upfront rather than starting the transfer and then having it stop because of windows version differences.
